Redwings and Fieldfares

Last Winter there was an influx of Waxwings to the South East and the rest of the country and whiilst this has not occurred this Winter there was an influx of Redwings and Fieldfares in London last week when we had the bitter cold weather. I managed to get some images of some Redwings and Fieldfares feeding on a holly bush on a busy road near a bus stop near Southgate. Using my car as cover and despite concerns from the owner of the holly bush I managed to take these photos as birds as many as 20-30 dived into the bush to feed. Once the temperatures rose the birds moved off and I have not seen any this weekend.

  6. Lovely shots, Anthony. Not seen many of either species here this winter. Can imagine and understand the concern of the bush owner - I'd be concerned too if I saw a dodgy character like you pointing a big lens towards my house!
