Marsh Harrier at Oroklini marsh
I have just come back from 3 weeks in Cyprus and so have many images to go through. Having visited the Island in mid April and stayed in Larnaca this was a perfect opportunity to photograph the many visiting birds on their migration routes as well as breeding birds on the Island. The water levels were the highest I have seen for mid April and towards he end of our stay they started to go down which revealed more wading birds. Particular highlights for me were close up views of European Rollers and I saw many breeding birds in different parts of the Island. I also had close up views of a Montagu Harrier,Cyprus warbler, Little Owl and Masked and Woodchat Shrikes. Here are some images of a Marsh Harrier I took early in my stay at Oroklini Marsh.
