Small Group of Black Storks at Acna Dam

I visited Acna Dam in Cyprus and took some images of a small group of Black Storks that were present there. Unfortunately one juvenile as pictured had a damagd leg but still seemed able to get about and feed. Hopefully this was not due to local shooting and hunting activity which was not due to start until after we left. I had not seen the dam so low in water before and I was told by someone from the Birdwatch Cyprus organisation that a lot of the water had been piped out to help local farmers water their crops. I tried to visit the dam at later dates but was not able to do so due to roads being blocked off for essential road repairs. Hopefully I will be able to go back there next year as it remains one of my favourite places in Cyprus for wildlife photography.

  5. Lovely shots, Anthony. Like the way the stork's eye matches the water colour in the first shot.
