Red Kites

Just a couple of images of a Red Kite I took at Watlington Hill a few days ago. It was quite a fustrating morning as these birds did not come quite close enough and I also struggled with the settings on the camera. These were about the best two images. I'm off to Cyprus tomorrow for a family holiday and hope to have the opportunity to take some photos of the wildlife there which I will post on the blog on my return.

  5. Hi all,

The red kite is a medium-large bird. It is an elegant bird, soaring with long wings held at a dihedral and long forked tail twisting as it changes direction. The body, upper tail and wing coverts are rufous. It inhabits broadleaf woodlands, valleys and wetland edges to 800 m. Thanks a lot.....
