Any visitor to the Farne Islands in the Summer has to tread carefully when landing off the boat as numerous pairs of Arctic terns nest near and on the walkway. They defend their nests predigously and visitors are advised to wear hats as they swoop down and cause injury to unprotected heads. These Terns are a joy to see and photograph and here are a few of the images I captured.
