Blackcap

Apologies for the lack of posts recently but I have been very busy at work so I have had a limited time to take photos and process them. I have been meaning to post these images of a male Blackcap I took in April this year. Usually one or two appear during the Winter or Spring and this year there were two males and one female. This cheeky male was the most confiding of the three and I was able to take these images of this bird.

In January 2010 we had a male Blackcap visit the garden and he stayed for about 2 months before disappearing. He was a regular feeder in the garden but was quite shy and difficult to photograph. Last month sure enough a male Blackcap reappeared in the garden and is currently still with us. I do not know enough about these birds to state that it is the same Blackcap that has returned this year but it does seem a big coincidence. This year I have been luckier in capturing some images of this bird and I have posted some of the better ones here.
