Utter Gloom

Between the age of 4 and 11 we lived at Rame near Penryn in a bungalow surrounded by fields. Whilst as a youngster I do not remember being concerned about the weather, grey cloud or light I do remember my uncle John coming to the visit and looking out of the window and saying Utter Gloom. Those words have stayed with me and I do believe they can be used to describe the weather here in Enfield since the beginning of the year. One grey day leading to another not great light for any photography.Anyway enough of the moaning the Greater Spotted Woodpecker continues to visit my garden and I managed to take these images at the weekend which appears to have lifted the gloom.
