Glossy Ibis

Glossy Ibis are frequent visitors to Cyprus and fairly common to see however I have always found that when photographing them its been in the middle of day with the light quite harsh. I noticed a group of birds a Oroklini lake one evening and thought I would try to go early the next morning to photograph them. When I did go early the next morning they were at feeding at a different part of the lake so had to make to with Black Wing Stilts and Wood Sandpipers so I was not complaining. Patience was rewarded however when 3 or 4 birds flew right over in front of the South hide and started to feed. These are a few of the images I took with the added bonus of a Wood sandpiper.

  1. Well Anthony, looks like patience was on your side, four lovely shots,my favourite is your Header stunning capture.

  2. Very good shots here again Anthony, your perseverance certainly paid off.
